April Monthly Organizing Round-Up

Organizing Blog
I decided to organize one of my Laundry Room cabinets for the Monthly Organizing Round-Up, with all of my stockpiling this cabinet was out of control!

Here is the before picture:

Here is the cabinet after I emptied it:
Here is everything that was in the cabinet (YIKES!)

And here is the end result!

I grouped all like items together and used several plastic baskets and plastic storage containers to keep small and loose items organized. I know exactly what items and how many of each items I have. I also sorted my Bath & Body Works Wallflowers refills and put them in one of the baskets. They are now sorted by seasons (fall, christmas, spring & summer) so it will be easy to find the refill that I need.

We are having a Muffin Baking Day! I love to have a stock of homemade muffins in the freezer for breakfast and snacks. Here is what we are making today:

Butterscotch Pumpkin Muffins (these are super YUMMY!!)

Here are our first 2 batches of muffins.

This is definitely the best part of Baking Day!

Come back on Thursday when we will be making Homemade Laundry Soap.

Make Your Own Foamy Dish Soap!

A few weeks ago I posted about making your own foamy hand soap (Thanks Money Saving Madness). This inspired me to try this with dish soap. Last December I purchased a bottle of the Dawn Direct Foam Dish Soap on sale and with a coupon of course! I really liked the way it cleans pots and pans. Yesterday I ran out, so I made my own! I used more soap for this than I did the hand soap since I will be using it to clean greasy pots and pans. Here is the recipe I used:

Add 1/3 cup Liquid Dish Soap of your choice (I used the basic blue Dawn but you could use whatever you have on hand) to the bottle and then fill with water. Gently shake. That's it!! This will make your bottle of dish soap last twice as long and it cleans just as well.
Watch the CVS and Walgreens ads for dish soap to go on sale. You can usually get it for FREE with coupons and/or Extra Bucks!
