Chocolate Peanut Butter Ball Monsters

These make a perfect Halloween Treat!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Ball Monsters

  • 2 cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Butter (softened)
  • 3 3/4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 3 cups Rice Crispies
  • 4 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/4 cup Shortening
In a large bowl, beat peanut butter and butter until blended. Slowly beat in the powdered sugar. Stir in the Rice Krispies. Shape into 1 inch balls and refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

Melt chocolate chips and shortening in the microwave, in a double boiler on the stove or in a Wilton chocolate Pro Electric Melting Pot. Stir until smooth & creamy. Use a toothpick and dip the peanut butter balls in the chocolate and place on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Place 2 Candy Eyeballs on each chocolate peanut butter ball. Chill until set.

I would like to make this recipe for the kids at church this year but I cannot use peanut butter due to food allergies. Does anyone know if this recipe would work using soy butter instead of peanut butter? I think they would taste good because of all the sugar, butter & chocolate but I don't know if soy butter is sticky enough to hold the balls together. What do you think?
