Crown Center FREE Spooky Fun Puppet Show 10/27

StoneLion Puppet Theatre presents "The Boneyard Jamboree," a fantastic, non-scary Halloween marionette show for audiences of all ages. The show features Martians, ghosts, skeletons and the pumpkin man.

The shows will be at Crown Center on Saturday, October 27. 2012 at 12:00pm & 2:00pm in the Crown Center Atrium.  The shows are FREE!

New Policy for the Crown Center Square Fountain

I received this VERY disappointing message from Crown Center in my e-mail today.  Connor & I have always referred to this as the best splash fountain in Kansas City.

New policy for Crown Center Square Fountain

This summer we've seen a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to Crown Center . There are now more family-oriented things to see and do in the Crown Center District than ever before. As a result, this area is now a true hub for families from throughout Kansas City and the region to spend time together, and we couldn't be happier about that.

With the large crowds, however, has come a growing concern about the safety of adults and children playing in the Crown Center Square Fountain. The increase in visitors also increases the potential for accidents, or for exposure to water-borne health issues in a facility that was never designed or intended to be a public pool.

That's why, effective immediately, people will no longer be allowed in the Crown Center Square Fountain . We know this will disappoint many people who have enjoyed a run through the fountains on a hot summer day, but guest safety is our utmost concern. Crown Center Security will ask anyone stepping into the fountain to move to nearby dry areas.

The fountain will continue to operate, and will continue to offer periodic programmed water displays with music recorded by the Kansas City Symphony, so visitors can still enjoy the fountains - just not run through them anymore.

Sea Life Aquarium Opening Day 4/6!

Today (4/6/12) is the opening day for the new Sea Life Aquarium at Crown Center.

The Easter Bunny is at Crown Center!

The Easter Bunny will be at Crown Center on Friday 4/6 & Saturday 4/7 from noon-4:00pm. A professional photographer will take pictures for a fee or you can take pictures with your own camera. There is no admission fee for this event.

Last Weekend for the FREE Rainforest Adventure Exhibit at Crown Center

The Rainforest Adventure exhibit will be at Crown Center until 9/5/11. It is a FREE exhibit and includes more than 40 interactive components, computer games & even a 9-foot Kapok tree! The exhibit is located on the Level 1 Showplace and is open during regular shopping hours.

A multisensory expedition that introduces children to tropical rainforests around the world. The exhibit features 40 interactive components, including computer games, a 9-foot kapok tree, gorilla blind and a station to color your own unique insects. Children role-play as research assistants as they explore and learn about the rainforest and its ecological wonders. On loan from Stepping Stones Museum for Children of Norwalk, CT.

Tropical Bird Show at Crown Center 8/20

This Saturday 8/20/11 is the "Jewels of the Rainforest" Tropical Bird Show at Crown Center.  The shows are at noon & 2:00pm in the 1st floor atrium.  See large parrots, macaws, owls & other live tropical birds.  The shows are FREE!

Clown Day at Crown Center 8/6

This Saturday 8/6/11 from 11:00am - 1:00pm is Clown Day at Crown Center!
