Irish Soda Bread Recipe

We had fun baking Irish Soda Bread today. We will have this with our Crockpot Corned Beef and Cabbage tonight. Here is the recipe for Irish Soda Bread:
2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon slat
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 1/2 cups Buttermilk or Plain Yogurt
Directions: Preheat Oven to 350 degrees. Place the baking powder, salt, sugar, and both kinds of flour in a bowl. Stir in the eggs and buttermilk (or yogurt).

Next, sprinkle a little flour onto a clean surface and knead the dough 10 times. Shape the dough into a loaf. Grease a loaf pan ( I prefer to make bread in stoneware.) with cooking spray and place the dough loaf into the pan. Bake for one hour. Allow the bread to cool before removing it from the pan. This recipe feeds about 12 people and maybe 1 or 2 leprechauns!

Here is a picture of the Corned Beef and Cabbage that is cooking in my crockpot. Yummy!
