Ultimate Recipe Swap: Breakfast Casserole

This is a perfect recipe for a Holiday brunch.  I love it because you assemble it the night before and then put it in the refrigerator overnight.  In the morning, you just pop it in the oven !

Breakfast Casserole
(18 servings)

  • 9 Slices White Bread
  • 1 lb. Pork Sausage (browned & drained)
  • 1 package Swiss Cheese Slices
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 7 Large Eggs
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1 packet Dry Onion Soup Mix

Place the bread slices in a lightly greased 13x9 baking dish.  Top with cooked sausage & swiss cheese.  In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk and dry onion soup mix.  Pour over the bread, sausage and cheese.  Sprinkle the parmesan cheese on top.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for at least 8 hours.

In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Remove plastic wrap and bake in the oven for 1 hour or until puffy and eggs are set.
