I recently purchased a Costco membership. I do not really like stores that require you to pay a membership fee to shop at the store but I went ahead and joined since I found a deal where you get $50.00 in Costco coupons with the membership. Some of the coupons are for FREE products and some are just dollar amounts off. I will use $40.00 worth of the coupons (the $10 I am not using are for eye exams) so I decided to try a membership for a year.
I have to say that I am not impressed after my shopping trip today and probably will not continue my membership after a year. I spent a lot of money even after coupons and most of the items I can find at the grocery store for the same price or less with a sale & coupon.
- Kirklands Green Beans 12 cans $7.49

- Green Goodness Juice $3.28
Finally, I purchased a package of Yogurt Starter for $4.29 (saved $.10 for bringing my own bag) at Whole Foods Market so I can make yogurt in my new yogurt maker this weekend.
Total Money Spent this Week = $103.50

Super Savings Saturday 8/20
I did not do a lot of shopping this week because we were on vacation in Branson, MO! I did purchase a few things at Silver Dollar City & the Amish Country Store. I also squeezed in a little bit of drugstore & school supply shopping when we got home.
Connor & Grandpa in jail at Silver Dollar City.
This year Connor thought for sure that he would be tall enough to ride Wildfire. He was so close that they had to meaure him several times but they said he still wasn't quite tall enough. We even tried trading shoes. Yes, my 7 year old & I wear the same size shoes. If you are wondering how this is possible, check-out the picture of my 6'6" husband above!
Today, I was looking at our vacation pictures and I came across the picture above. Doesn't it look like he is in the green "all ride" zone? He is even wearing his own shoes in this picture. Well, I think we will have to make another trip to Silver Dollar City this Fall. Connor says he just has to ride Wildfire in 2011!
