Homemade Foamy Hand Soap

One of the ways I save money is by making my own foamy hand soap.
Here is what you will need:
  • Empty foamy hand soap bottle
  • dish soap or any liquid soap or body wash
Simply add 2 tablespoons of soap to the bottle, fill with water and give it a little shake!

One of my favorite soaps to use is the Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap (picutred above). It comes in several scents and it moisturizes your hands. I also like to use the Palmolive Lavender Dish soap, Ivory dish soap, Johnson's Baby Wash, Suave Shampoo, Dove Body Wash, Olay Body Wash and Bath & Body Works Body Wash. You can use any kind of liquid soap or body wash.

This is a great way to use up that last little bit of body wash or shampoo in the bottom of the bottle. You could even use the men's body wash to make a more masculine scented hand soap. My husband doesn't like to use soap that smells too girly (LOL)! The possibilities are endless. Since I have started making my own foamy hand soap I have not paid any money for hand soap. There are lots of great deals for FREE or almost FREE dish soap and body wash at CVS & Walgreens. I may never have to pay for hand soap again!!

  1. I'm definitely going to try this! I can definitely relate about husbands not wanting to use girly-smelling soap! :)

  2. This cracks me up! I have foaming pumps at each sink, kitchen and bathrooms. I refill them with soap and mostly water. I use whatever I have on hand. I got some super cheap shampoo that was green tea scented and some coconut scented body wash/shampoo! Love those scents for hand wash. Never considered using the Dawn Hand Renewal one, I'll have to check that one out!

  4. My hubby is so good about doing this himself. He especially likes the citrus-y scents. And these last longer than those Pampered Chef ones that get stuck after a month of use.

I've never tried the Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap. That sounds nice! I'll keep an eye out for a good Dawn coupon. ;)

  6. Thanks for the tip. I love the foamy soap at Bath and Body Works, but it is expensive and does not last very long so I don't buy it. I will have to try this sometime. I linked your post to my own Frugal Friday post. Stop by anytime! ;)

  8. Coupon Teacher,
Now you can really spoil him and make Man Soap. I make a special bottle using men's body wash for my husband and son.
