The Green Refrigerator Machine by Ozonator Product Review

Our family made a change in the way we eat this year.  We have been transitioning to eating more whole foods.  This has been a great change for us healthwise but it has not been a great change with the grocery budget.  The amount I spend on groceries has definitely gone up!  I still shop sales and there are some coupons available for healthy, whole and/or organic products but there is still a significant increase in the amount I spend on groceries each week.

One of the most frustrating things about whole foods is they spoil a lot quicker than processed foods so I was very excited to try out the Green Refrigerator Machine by Ozonator.

The Green Refrigerator Machine by Ozonator:
  • Eliminates odors in your refrigerator.
  • Keeps food fresher longer.
  • Promotes a Clean Environment in your refrigerator.
There is more information available on the Green Refrigerator Machine Facebook page.

After having the Green Refrigerator Machine in my refrigerator for 24 hours, I immediately noticed that the odors were gone!  We went on vacation last Wedndesday and I left some grapes in the refrigerator that were purchased one week earlier and they were still fresh when we arrived home on Saturday.  I am really excited to see if the Green Refrigerator Machine will help us save money on the grocery budget by keeping foods fresher longer.

The Green Refrigerator Machine by Ozonator would make a perfect Christmas gift!  The regular retail price is $49.95 but right now you can purcahse a Green Refrigerator Machine for only $39.95.

Disclosure: I received a Green Refrigerator Machine by Ozonator through Mom Select  to review on my blog.   The opinions in this post are my own and were not influenced in any way.  I receive a small comission for each Ozonator that is sold from the link in this post.

Stanley Steemer Review & $100 Gift Certificate Give Away!

This give away is now closed.

I am so excited because today Stanley Steemer came to clean our carpets and they definitely needed it!  We bought our home almost 8 years ago and it was is a fixer-upper.  The carpet has been on our list of things to replace since we bought the home but it always seems to get bumped to the bottom of the list.  Major foundation repairs and water in the basement are more of a priority than carpet and that's ok because the carpet is not terrible.  It is a neutral color and it is in descent condition so I can live with it for a little while longer.

My goal was to have Stanley Steemer clean our carpets so I would know they are clean.  I did not expect to see much of a difference.  I was wrong!!!  The carpets look amazing!  They even cleaned the VERY high traffic area in our dining room.  I don't know what the architect of our home was thinking, but the main path to our kitchen goes right through our formal dining room and so that carpet was looking very worn & dirty.  I have before & after pictures below but the dramatic difference did not show up well in the photos.

I decided to have the carpet in 3 rooms cleaned:

Living Room

Dining Room

Hall

I went online to schedule an appointment.  It was so easy and I was able to get a next day appointment!  I entered my zip code and then chose the rooms to be cleaned.  I received the total cost and that is exactly what my cost was today (no hidden fees, etc.).

The Stanley Steemer technicians arrived on time and were very friendly.  They moved all of the furniture and thoroughly cleaned the carpets.  Afterwards, they put everything back just as they had found it.

Here are a few before and after pictures but the results are much more dramatic than it appears in the pictures.  My old carpets look new!

Dining Room Before:

Dining Room After:

The pictures above are of the most high traffic area in our home.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the carpets were filthy and there was a very obvious walking path.  After cleaning, the path is completely gone!

Tide Cold Water Product Review

I recently received a bottle of Tide Cold Water Laundry Detergent from Tide & She Speaks to review.  I have to admit that I was very nervous about washing white clothes in cold water and I put off doing the review for several weeks because of this.  It goes against everything that I know about doing laundry!  I also have an eight year old son and let's just say his socks don't look very white when he puts them in the laundry hamper.

So here is my handsome son with his filthy white socks.

Here is a close-up of those socks.  Aren't you glad blogs don't have smell?

The temperature on my washer is set to cold so let's get started.

(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS feed, click here to see the video.)

Now it's time to take them out of the dryer and see the results!

Here are the final results.

All of the clothes that I washed were clean and they smelled fresh but the socks were not as white as I had hoped.   There are some white clothes that I would consider washing in cold with Tide Cold Water but I will definitely continue to wash white socks in hot water.

Seventh Generation Dish Liquid Review & Give Away

This give away is now closed.

From Seventh Generation:

The power of scent is remarkable. It can have positive effects on your mood, reduce stress, and even help you sleep better. But not all scents are created equal. The fruit, floral and herbal ingredients used to create the scents in Seventh Generation´s new natural dish liquid come from fields, not factories.

Seventh Generation dish liquid contains only essential oils and botanical extracts, and delivers real cleaning power. Your tableware will be left fresh and ready to serve your next home cooked meal.

With authentic ingredients like lavender from the fields of Drome in the foothills of the Alps, clementines from sunny Calabria and lemons from the soils of Sicily, Seventh Generation natural dish liquid is free of unnecessary synthetic colors or chemically engineered scents.

Enter the "Nature Makes Perfect Scents" sweepstakes at seventhgeneration.com/scents and you can have the chance to take a trip for two to visit one of the sourcing sites of Seventh Generation natural dish liquid fragrance ingredients. Visit seventhgeneration.com/scents to learn more about each scent´s origin.

I was very excited to try the different Seventh Generation Natural Dish Liquid Scents.  My favorite scent was definitely the Fresh Citrus & Ginger.  The dish liquid is very gentle but it did get my dishes clean.  I have a dishwasher and I clean most of my dishes with it but I do hand wash all of my pots, pans & baking dishes.  The Seventh Generation Dish Liquid cleaned them very well, was gentle on my hands & provided a nice fragrance.  I also used some of the Lavendar Floral & Mint Dish Liquid to make some homemade foamy hand soap and it worked very well.

Would you like to win a Seventh Generation Dish Liquid Prize Pack?

The prize pack contains:

Soap Time Review & Give Away

This give away is now closed.

This summer our family has battled the stomach virus (YUCK!) more times than I want to count so when Soap Time & Mom Select asked if I wanted to try a product that helps kids learn to properly wash their hands, I jumped at the opportunity.

Here is a product description from Soap Time:

SoapTime® is a patented system that provides a multi-media “Edutainment” experience that makes wash time FUN!  Children are encouraged to wash their hands while learning proper wash time (:20 seconds).  It’s great for children of all ages, especially between 2 ½ & 7 when they are initiating independent hand washing & need encouragement to get to the sink.  They are engaged by lights, musical & educational content while learning Healthy Habits for Life!

Now Connor is going to demonstrate how to use Soap Time.

(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS feed, click here to see the video.)

There are 3 uniquely Themed Bottles: ABC, Earth, and Elephant, each recognized by the SmartBase®.  All bottles have educational themes narrated by our very own, Professor Goodhabits.  The music was written, produced, & recorded by Brian Vander Ark, of the Verve Pipe.  ABC’s theme is language, Earth’s theme is nature (Just a note:  this one does contain a reference to the earth being 40 billion years old.), and Elephant’s theme is wild kingdom.

Here is a video of the ABC Soap Time:

(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS feed, click here to see the video.)

I really love this product!  It helps kids (& adults) understand how long they need to wash their hands and Soap Time is entertaining.  I have noticed that since using this product Connor is washing his hands longer even when he doesn't have Soap Time.

Soap Time is available to purchase at select Bed, Bath & Beyond stores (nationwide soon!).

Would you like to win your very own set of Soap Time?
Here are the four VERY Easy ways to enter to win a full Soap Time set including 3 uniquely Themed Bottles (ABC, Earth & Elephant) & the Soap Time SmartBase®.

DaGeDar Review

Have you heard of DaGeDar?  If you have a son, then you definitely need to check out this toy that is now available in stores!

Last Saturday, Connor & I hosted a DaGeDar party and shared this great toy with 3 of his friends.

Warning:  This sentence contains Mommy bragging!
I just have to say how wonderful all the boys were that attended the party!  They were such nice gentelemen, very well behaved, played together well and shared the toys & computer.  Ok, now back to DaGeDar.

Here are the DaGeDar toys that we received in our Party Package:

The boys had a great time playing with DaGeDar and were very excited to get 2 DaGeDar balls to take home.
They really had a lot of fun trading DaGeDar balls!
(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS feed, click here to see the video.)

(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS feed, click here to see the video.)

This is the target board that Connor created to use with the Rapid Fire Power Launcher.

Each DaGeDar ball has a code printed on the ball that you can enter online to learn more about each DaGeDar character.  My favorite part was the codes are printed on the balls so no need to worry about losing keeping packaging or small pieces of paper.  The website was definitely a big hit at the party.  Look at all 4 of them sharing the computer!

(If you are reading in an e-mail or RSS fee, click here to see the video.)

My Review of DaGeDar:

Positives:
  • This toy does NOT take batteries.  WooHoo!!!!!
  • Packaging is easy to open.  It does not require scissors, pliers and/or a chainsaw to open.
  • The balls are very fun to play with and trade.
  • The boys really enjoyed exploring the website.
  • The Rapid Fire Launcher enouraged open-ended play & was a big hit with the boys.
  • This toy does NOT take batteries!
  • For a plastic toy, it seems very durable.
  • The Rapid Fire Power Launcher was very popular at the party and encouraged open-ended play.
  • DaGeDar is fun for one child to play or to play as a group.
  • Did I mention this toy does not take batteries?
  • The High Speed Score Zone Raceway track was fun to play with & keep score.
  • Web code is printed on the DaGeDar ball so there are no packaging or papers to keep track of.
Negatives:
  • I only have one negative comment about DaGeDar and that is the track can only be assembled one way.  My son is really into building toys (legos, lincoln logs, knex, etc.) and so he was a little frustrated that the track can only be assembled one way.  The track was fun to play with but the boys quickly became board with it and looked for other creative ways to play with DaGeDar.

Overall, I think DaGeDar is a great toy and would make a perfect Christmas or Birthday gift for boys 5-12!

And of course at the party we had to have snacks with a DaGeDar theme!  All of our snacks were balls:  Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls (with candy eyes of course), Perfect Piglet Sausage Balls & Utz Cheese Balls.

Disclosure:  I received DaGeDar balls, track & accessories from DaGeDar through Mom Select.  The opinions in this post  are my own and were not influenced in any way. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post or for the DaGeDar party.
