Grocery Deals Coming Later Tonight

I will have the weekly grocery deals posted later tonight or early tomorrow.  Right now, I am in the process of making 200 Sugar Cookies shaped like the United States for the kids at church tonight.  I know.  I know.  I am crazy!  I am sure the friends and family reading my blog are shaking their heads saying "What crazy thing is she doing now??!!"  For those of you that don't know me, I am crazy : )

For my birthday, my favorite Aunt gave me a cookie cookbook Presidential Cookies by Bev Young.  This book is a lot of fun.  It has recipes from each of the presidents starting with George Washington and also includes stories and facts about each of the presidents.  The sugar cookie recipe I am making today is Mamie Eisenhower's recipe and it is delicious (Is cookie dough a healthy lunch?).

I have to admit that right now Florida is not one of my favorite states (my apologies to my Florida readers).  Let's just say it has seceded from the Union more than once today!!  I have heard that the state of California is going to fall off into the ocean one day but after making these cookies it seems like it would be more logical for the state of Florida to fall off into the ocean! 

This is my United States Cookie cutter.  It has been a lot of fun making these cookies despite the Florida issues.   I ordered it from CheapCookieCutters.com.

I went to my favorite store this week Planters Seed & Spice Company.   It is located at 513 Walnut (next to City Market), Kansas City, MO 64106. I made a trip there this week and I absolutely love this store!! They have just about every spice and seasoning mix you can imagine and at great prices. They also have bulk tea, coffee and even their own vanilla extract bottled in Kansas City. Here is what I purchaed:

Price Chopper has a 3-Day (7/9-7/11) produce sale this week.  I purchased some blackberries ($1.88 each) and blueberries ($.98 each) to make Homemade Jam.  I also purchased a 5.11 lb. package of Country Style pork ($1.79/lb.).  I saved $.05 for bringing my own reusable bag.

I purchased the items pictured above at Price Chopper on Tuesday.  I purchased Ground Beef ($1.54/lb.), Mt. Olive Relish $.99 & 4 cans Van Camp's Pork & Beans $.50 each.  Go here to see what I am doing with all of that ground beef!

There were a few good deals at Walgreens this week.  Here is what I purchased:

• 2 cans VanCamp's Pork & Beans 2/$1.00
• 2 Hydrogen Peroxide 2/$1.00 (these are to make Homemade Automatic Shower Cleaner)

It was not a very exciting week at CVS.  Here is what I purchased:

• 1 Dawn $.99 (used $.25 coupon)
• 1 Root Touch-Up $5.99 (used $2 coupon)
• 1 Milky Way Caramel $.50 (used $.50 coupon from the Magic Coupon Machine)

I used $2.98 in Extra Bucks.

Total Out of Pocket = $1.75 & I earned $2.00 ($1 from Root Touch-Up & $1 from my Green Bag Tag)

Connor & I found this soap making kit on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $12.35 and we thought this would be a fun way to make gifts for friends and family.

I went to Walgreens this week to use the $13.50 in Register Rewards I earned last week.  I have found that if I don't use my Register Rewards quickly they end up expiring!!  I mostly purchased items that we needed or that were a really good price.  I did earn a $3.00 Register Reward for the Goody Ouchless Headbands.

**I forgot to bring my Ragu coupons for this deal so I went back later in the week to purchase it. I went ahead and purchased the Hellmann's Mayo on my first trip and then when I purchased the Ragu (3/$5.00 & I used a $.75/2 coupon & $2 in Extra Bucks so it was $2.25 oop) my $3 in Extra Bucks printed.

 

 

 

Last week Cosentino's Sunfresh stores had strawberries on sale for $1.49 each and they had Cool Whip on sale for $.49 each. I went to Sunfresh (Vivion & Antioch)  and there were $1.00 peelies on the Strawberries to save $1 when you buy strawberries & Cool Whip!
