Super Savings Saturday 7/9

This was my best deal of the week:

I found the grill pictured above in our neighbor's trash & my husband and I (ok, mostly my husband) retrieved it out of the trash.  Oh, yes we did!   It does need a little work (about $50-$75) but that is still a great deal for such a nice grill.

Total Out of Pocket = $0

My parents brought me this Wolfgang Puck Bistro Bread Machine (similar to the one here).  They purchased it at their church rummage sale for $10.  It has 2 paddles so I can't wait to try it out!

Total Out of Pocket = $0 (It was a gift.)

The only grocery shopping I did this week was to purchase 2 gallons ($3.10 each) of milk at Aldi.

Total Out of Pocket = $6.20

Total Money Spent this Week = $6.20

Super Savings Saturday 5/7

(One of our favorite KC fountains!)

Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains and has many beautiful fountains all around the city.  This summer we are planning a homeschool unit study on Kansas City fountains and we will be reading about and visiting lots of fountains.   I thought it would be fun to share some of our KC fountain studies with my readers so starting in June I will be posting pictures and information on some of the fountains that we visit.  I haven't decided  how I am going to do this (one post or a series)  but I will let you know once I decide.

Leave a comment if you have a favorite KC Fountain!

Super Savings Saturday 4/16

Here are my deals for the week:

Connor & I went treasure hunting at our local thrift stores this week.  I still have not found 4 chairs to go with our new table but we are going garage sale shopping tomorrow so maybe we will have some luck.  We did find quite a few deals at the thrift stores including an Aigner Purse, Clark Shoes, Tupperware cups and lots of name brand clothing for Connor (Children's Place, Gymboree, Nordstroms, Gap & Ralph Lauren).

I went to Sam's Club on Friday during the Try Sam's for Free Event (41/15/11-4/17/11).  I spent more money than I intended but I did get a few good deals.  I prefer to shop at the grocery store because I can get the same or better price than at Sam's Club and there is no membership fee.  They tried to talk me into purchasing a membership but I just don't think you should have to pay a store to shop there.
