Spring Cleaning & Glade Product Review

I'm not sure this counts as Spring Cleaning, but one of the first things I do in the Spring is to open the windows of our house.  There is just something about opening the house after winter and letting in fresh air!  I also like to purchase Spring scented candles & air fresheners.  The combination of the fresh air and Spring scents help to motivate me to start my Spring Cleaning!

Here is a tip for a quick clean-up:

If you have company coming and less than 10 minutes to clean-up your house, what do you do to make the most of the time?

Do a quick run through and pick-up as much clutter as you can then light a candle or spray air freshener.  If your house smells clean it will appear to be cleaner than it really is!

I received a Glade Limited Edition Sparkle of Spring Candle (4oz.) in my kit from BzzAgent and I love it!  It has a very light and fresh scent and I love the beautiful green color of the candle.  The Sparkle of Spring candle has a light citrus fragrance with a hint of vanilla.  Burning this candle definitely added the fragrance of Spring to my home.  The Sparkle of Spring scent is also available in scented oil candles, room sprays and Glade Plugins refills.

I also received a Glade Plugins refill in my SC Johnson Spring Cleaning kit from BzzAgent.  I have used Glade Plugins in our bathrooms for a long time but this is the first time that I have tried the Crisp Waters fragrance.  It provided enough fragrance to keep the bathroom smelling fresh without being overwhelming in a small space.  I really like the Crisp Waters fragrance and will definitely add it to my list of favorite Plugins scents.

Menu Board Project

I finally finished my Menu Board Project!  I made a few changes to the board.  I laminated 7 meal cards so that I can write the meals on using a dry erase marker instead of having a collection of meal cards.  Also, most of my recipes are online, not on recipe cards, so I did not need a pocket for recipe cards.

I can't wait to try it out.  It will be nice to have it in the kitchen so my son can see what is planned for dinner instead of asking me 50 times a day!

Do you use a menu plan board ?

Doorposts 10 Days of Give Aways & New Blog

Today's (3/21/11) give away on the new Doorposts blog, Doorposts of Your House, is the book For Instruction in Righteousness

This book will help you use the Bible every time you discipline your children! For Instruction in Righteousness is a topical Bible for parents. It includes hundreds of verses on over 50 areas of sin. But it is more than just a topical Bible!

Each chapter includes:
•What the Bible says will, or should, happen to a person who sins in this way.

•Ideas for discipline that parallel these Biblical consequences.

•What the Bible likens a person to when he indulges in this sin, and ideas for practical objects lessons using these examples.

•How God blesses the person who resists temptations to this sort of sin.

•Parallel ideas for “rewards” and encouragement for children who show progress towards overcoming this sin.

•Stories and people in the Bible that illustrate obedience and disobedience in this area.

•Fully quoted memory verses.

•Use for all ages!

My best deal this week was this Intelliglobe that I found at Target on clearance for $22.48 (original price $125.00)!  I have been looking for a globe for my son and really liked the Intelliglobe but did not want to pay $125.00.  I just happen to find it on clearance in the office/school supply department (for those of you in KC it was at the Tiffany Springs store).

 I also purchased at Target:
  • Finish Dishwasher Detergent $2.99 (used $1.50 Target coupon & $.75 manufacturer coupon)
  • Up & Up Ibuprofen $1.77 (used $1 Target coupon)

  • 1 Dial Lotion $4.99 (used $1.00 coupon)
  • Irish Spring Body Wash $2.99 (used $.50 coupon)
